David is a communications consultant and a freelance writer, editor and photographer with 45 years of accomplishment in journalism, public affairs and higher education. He has served as the senior communications officer at five colleges and universities, director of public information for the U.S. Commodities Future Trading Commission and chief of staff for former Massachusetts Lt. Governor Evelyn Murphy.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in government and a master’s in journalism from Boston University, David began his career in 1968 as a reporter for The Day newspaper in New London, CT. From there he went to the Boston Herald and then to United Press International, where he was Massachusetts State House bureau chief.

In 1978, David started a communications and consulting practice. His clients have included the US General Accounting Office, the Massachusetts Division of Insurance, the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency, Harvard University, Radcliffe College, Bentley University, New England Board of Higher Education, Clark University, Brandeis University, Notre Dame Education Center, Silent Spring Institute, Judge Baker Children’s Center and the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation.

He has taught at Boston University College of Communication and Harvard Graduate School of Education.
