NEFAC Meets with R.I. Attorney General to Discuss Open Government Concerns

The New England First Amendment Coalition met with officials from the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General today to discuss several open government issues in the state.

Among those attending the meeting were Attorney General Peter Neronha, Deputy Attorney General Adi Goldstein and Executive Counsel and Chief of Policy Kathryn Sabatini. During the meeting, subjects including the following were discussed:

• Legislation to reform the Access to Public Records Act.
• The use of fines to discourage violations of the public records law.
• Additional improvements to the office’s database of open government decisions.
