The New England First Amendment Coalition will present a discussion on the First Amendment from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 26 at the Greenfield Public Library, 402 Main Street in Greenfield, Mass.
The program is part of the library’s Thursday Morning Club and will feature Buz Eisenberg, an attorney and First Amendment expert. The event is free and open to the public.
BUZ EISENBERG | As an attorney for 38 years, Eisenberg has handled a variety of civil, criminal and civil rights cases in the local, regional, national and international arenas. Currently representing ICE detainees, for 12 years Eisenberg represented eight Guantánamo detainees, all of whom have been freed from detention. A Professor Emeritus of Greenfield Community College, he taught Constitutional Law and Civil Liberties.
The event is part of NEFAC’s Featured Speaker Program which launched in January to help increase First Amendment education in high schools, college classrooms and community centers. NEFAC recently presented to students at the University of New Hampshire; high school students in Providence, R.I., and Bridgeport, Conn., the Millicent Library in Fairhaven, Mass., and at the annual New England Scholastic Press Association conference at Boston University.
