The New England First Amendment Coalition will present its ongoing community conversation, “The First Amendment and the Free Press,” from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. on April 29 at the Rochambeau Library, 708 Hope Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
This event is free and open to the public.
FEATURED SPEAKER
GREGORY V. SULLIVAN | Sullivan has served as general counsel for the Union Leader Corporation for the past 42 years. He teaches First Amendment Media Law at Suffolk University Law School in Boston and at the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications in Manchester, N.H.
NEFAC offers discussions on journalism and the First Amendment as part of its Featured Speaker Program, launched in January 2018 to help increase First Amendment education in high schools, college classrooms and community centers. NEFAC recently presented at Brown University; at the Nackey Loeb School in Manchester, N.H.; to a political delegation in Boston; at a church in Providence; and at the South Hero Library in Vermont; among other New England locations and audiences.
NEFAC was formed in 2006 to advance and protect the Five Freedoms of the First Amendment, including the principle of the public’s right to know. We’re a broad-based organization of people who believe in the power of an informed democratic society. Our members include lawyers, journalists, historians, academics and private citizens.
