National Freedom of Information Coalition
The NFOIC is a nonpartisan alliance of citizen-driven nonprofit freedom of information organizations, academic and First Amendment centers, journalistic societies and attorneys. The coalition is an education and outreach resource for state and local governments to counsel on transparency and open government issues, laws and legislation. The NFOIC also administers the Knight FOI Fund, which offers financial support to defray costs and expenses in open government court cases throughout the year.
New England Newspaper & Press Association
NENPA is the professional trade organization for newspapers in the six New England states: Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island. NENPA is the principal advocate for newspapers in our region, helping them to successfully fulfill their mission to engage and inform the public while navigating and ultimately thriving in today’s evolving media landscape. More than 450 publications are members of NENPA, and they benefit from our wide range of important services.

OpenTheGovernment is a Washington, D.C.-based group working to make the federal government more open and accountable. OpenTheGovernment is a coalition of more than 80 organizations throughout the country. It was formed in 2003 to help organize and amplify the voices of those who believe open government is essential to ensuring integrity and accountability in our governing institutions.
U.S. Press Freedom Tracker
The U.S. Press Freedom Tracker brings together more than two dozen press freedom groups to create a centralized repository for research. The data it gathers helps inform advocacy, journalism, and legal action. The Tracker is based on a coalition that shares knowledge about threats to press freedom across the country.
